Discussing South Africa (July 2004)

In July 2004 I hosted a potluck dinner to discuss “What Can We Do For South Africa?” Representatives from the Ubuntu Education Fund attended and described for my guests their work with the people of the Eastern Cape Province to develop quality education and healthy communities in South Africa. I quoted Archbishop Desmond Tutu in my invitation: “To be neutral in a situation of injustice is to have chosen sides already. It is to support the status quo.” To date we have not moved forward in South Africa but hope to do so in the future.
