Children of Aceh Thank the World (8/05)

Our children were dressed for the event in traditional Acehenese costume and were excited to see their new role models, our staff, recognized publicly by the Indonesian government.

In August of 2005 in Banda Aceh, Sumatera, Indonesia, there was a ceremony held by the Acehenese Ministry of Social Affairs in which, along with UNICEF, Save The Children, Islamic Relief, and other big NGOs, Orphans International was recognized.

OI Sumatera received a plaque and a citation thanking us for the work we are doing for Tsunami orphans. The event was covered extensively by the media and appeared on the cover of the Jakarta Post.
